Salam. The Syadzili tariqah is connected to the Ba’Alawi (’Alawiyyah) Tariqah of the Hadhramaut, Yemen Sayyids through Al-Faqih Muqaddam Muhammad bin ‘Ali BaAlawi (574 H- 653 H) considered as the leading mursyid of the BaAlawi (apart from Al-Imam Al-Haddad who is the descendant of his uncle). Al Faqih Muqaddam received his khirqah (a coat?) as ijazah from his mursyid whom he didn’t meet, ie Syaikh Abu Madyan.

The coat was brought by Syaikh Abu Madyan’s disciple Syaikh Abd Rahman al-Maq’adi who died in Mecca. Before he died, he told his disciple Syaikh Abd Allah Salaeh Al-Maghrabi to bring the coat to Hadhramaut and wear it on Al-Faqih Muqaddam.
