So one of the requirements is doing a regular wird. Before I go on, I will explain.. a wird is essentially a habit. It is often a litany, which is related regularly. Imam an-Nawawi put together a wird as well as Imam al-Haddad. The litany will consist of verses from the Qur'an and various duas (supplications). The Qur'an, read on a regular basis, could be considered a wird.
So the wird of the Shadhilis is the wird written by the founder of the tariqa, Imam Abul Hassan al-Shadhili. In particularly, the Wird al 'Aam. I think it translates to something like the generic or general wird. It basically consists of sending prayers on the Prophet Muhammad and asking for forgiveness. It takes me half an hour to do it though! It's a bit difficult getting into the habit and I fear it will be more difficult when I get back to school. For that reason, I have to make sure it is a habit before I start school in the fall insha'Allah.
I am getting better at controlling anger though. I mean not that I am an angry person alhamdulillah, but there are those times when someone ticks you off and you just want to vent- which is not allowed if there is no benefit.
I'm trying really hard just NOT getting angry- not caring if someone laughs at me or disses me.
Boy, do I have a long way to go……
